When purchasing printer ink cartridges

There are many ways to save money when purchasing printer inkcartridges. It’s a “well-known secret” in the printer manufacturing industry that manufacturers deliberately lower the price of printers so that the profits can be made up through the sale of their (Often very expensive) printer ink cartridges.
Of course, from a business perspective, this makes sense. When purchasing a certain model of printer, you also commit to buying the specific printer ink cartridges for that printer, regardless of how expensive they are. Having to buy expensive printer ink cartridges repeatedly can begin to feel a little unfair after a while, and the printer you may be purchasing expensive printer ink before could start to look like less of a bargain than it did to begin with.
However, there are ways to keep the cost of printing and printer ink down.
Firstly, when you buy your printer, look at how much the printer ink will cost you. If you don’t do your research, you may end up having to shell out for costly printer ink, the price of which could by far outweigh the cost of the original printer. Only printing when you need to will extend the life of your cartridges simply by saving on ink. When printing documents, opting for draft or greyscale settings can help save ink if the document is only being used for reference. Again, black ink cartridges are useful here; if it is only a reference document, there is little need for colour printing.
